The End Of Dr. Lou’s Weight Loss Challenge! A Weight Loss Revolution!

December 5, 2017

Change Your Life, Call Dr. Lou today! (207) 774-6251

Dr. Lou’s Weight Loss Challenge Has Died From Complications Of Obesity. A personal message from Dr. Lou. That’s Right, but there’s great news. The three month challenge that has led to hundreds of people losing thousands of pounds is taking a break this year. Over the years we’ve given away thousands of dollars and helped dozens of people take off tremendous weight and keep it off. As otherwise motivated participants became less engaged in the process (Free Classes, Workshops, etc) and subsequently were less successful in the program, I started strategizing better, more effective ways of helping people get in shape. I wanted to continue to use the valuable information and tools we’ve used in the challenge. This has led me back to the most successful plan of action I know. For over 15 years I have been privately coaching people to better fitness and weight loss. One on One attention appears to be what works best for my clients and it allows them to comfortably work through weight loss without the involvement of distracting group meetings and generalized plans. Our program was overweight with options and I’ve decided to slim things down. I will be reinvesting my time...

If you follow the rules, there is almost no way that you will not succeed in losing belly fat. In fact, I would argue that it is impossible to fail if you follow these rules. I’ve done it myself, I’ve helped others do it, and it will work for anyone who has “had enough”. Low Carb Diet: No alcohol, no pasta, no sugar. The only carbs you can eat are those in greens. Eat lean meats like fish and chicken. Exercise: Cardio for an hour 4 times a week. 20 minutes of weights or resistance exercises for the large muscle groups 4-5 times a week. What are the large muscle groups? Back, chest, arms, legs. Exercises? Push ups, bicep curls, seated rows, tricep push downs, squats with or without weight. Sleep: Get a lot of sleep. 8 hours a night minimum. Feeding Frequency: Sounds like you’re being treated like a baby? Kind of. Eat small quantities every two hours. Don’t miss a beat. Too much trouble? Don’t lose weight, or exercise more, your choice. Prep meals a couple nights a...

Why Body Composition Analysis for 2017? It Fosters Fitness Success.

November 21, 2016

Body Composition Analysis Fosters Fitness Success!   Why would you want to find out what you are made of? With over 10 years of weight loss coaching and mental conditioning for success, I can tell you that details matter. The more details you know about your body composition, the more focused your efforts can be and the less likely you’ll get frustrated waiting for the number on the scale to change. What if you don’t use a scale? Doesn’t matter. Your body composition impacts your metabolism. Your metabolism, obviously, impacts weight loss and strategies for body conditioning optimization. Watch this video for a quick explanation of how it works, why it’s great and how it’s going to help you succeed!   The scale only gives you weight. It doesn’t tell you how much water, muscle and fat you are made of.   When you have your BMI calculated, it’s based on weight and height. If you are 5% body fat before a bodybuilding competition but your weight and height are high and low, your BMI will be too high. This number doesn’t tell you much.   Body composition testing using an RJL Systems analyzer give us much more information. Water...

Weight Loss Success

April 11, 2014

Weight Loss Success Thoughts on the 2014 Weight Loss Challenge Basically one big downer, but it’s the truth and it could help you win next year. On the eve of the “Weigh Out” of my annual weight loss challenge, I thought I would share with you some of the things that sabotage weight loss success and things you can learn from the mistakes of others involved in the 2014 challenge.  Mistakes are what help us grow if we are open and enlightened enough to realize that failure is an opportunity to succeed, great good can come of a less than ideal attempt at reaching your goals..  After reading this, ask yourself how you will respond to some of the observations I’ve posted here.   The first thing that I’ve learned is that those who sign up for my weight loss challenge (WLC) but don’t sign up for the classes, typically fail and never show up at the weigh out.   People who sign up have the best intentions and some motivation but it’s hard to sustain and maintain both.  Weight loss success requires consistency, more effort and a good support system.   People who don’t sign up for the...

There’s More To Weight Loss Than Weight Loss

January 7, 2014

Weight Loss Has Hidden Treasures   If you think slimming down is the greatest benefit of a weight loss program, you may want to consider the following list of cornerstone treasures that one discovers on a journey of weight loss.   1. Self Discipline – If you start with a challenging goal and achieve it, you will  understand discipline.  It is this same discipline that will help you finish graduate school, quit smoking or finish the book you are writing.   2. The value of the written word – Written goals will guide you on your way.  They will help you over obstacles and roadblocks.  They will keep you focused on the prize.  Written goals are effective in all areas of your life.   3. Love of oneself.  It takes a lot of love to work hard enough to accomplish your weight loss goals.  Once established that love will nourish you and enable you for a lifetime.   4. Organization.  The family, the job, the chores, the exercise, the food preparation, the errands.  There is a lot to juggle in life.  Adding an hour of exercise and organizing menus for yourself adds to the stress or adds to your skills...
