Jacobs Chiropractic Acupuncture Center is a family practice. We work with people of all ages and many of our patients belong to the same family. We also see many families that are just beginning. Working with expectant mothers and fathers prior to babyʼs arrival and then with the baby once they are born. Although Dr. Lou has always worked with kids, he is currently taking things one step further by fulfilling the requirements set by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association to be a specialist in working with children. Perinatal care for moms is also part of this training and Dr. Lou is certified in The Webster Technique that is used to help facilitate the movement of babies in the womb to the most desired birthing position. This painless process often prevents the need for more invasive, more painful procedures used in hospitals for turning breech babies. Research has shown that The Webster Technique is effective 85% of the time.
Dr. Lou is a father of a 4 1/2 year old daughter and understands the stress of parenthood. He also understands the unique challenges new fathers and mothers deal with. Apart from balancing bodies, the team at JCA is also known for spending enough time with patients to really help with their thoughts as well. Dr. Lou has talked more than his fair share of parents off the ledge during the early years of parenthood. He also specializes in the structural care of moms after the delivery of their little one.
Grandparents are welcome too of course. Our most senior patient in 2014 is 86 years old. Yes, we accept Medicare. We also accept MaineCare. In fact, we accept all major insurance types at our office.
For those with no family, we welcome you too. We have many members of our office between the ages of 20 and 50 who have no children and arenʼt married. This group is one of our favorites. They have wonderful energy, great stories of adventures and love to talk food and music. This crowd has been the foundation of our office for the past 10 years.
JCA is the only office in the state with a full time Interpreter of French and Arabic to better serve Southern Maine’s immigrant and refugee population. We believe everyone deserves the best of chiropractic care, even when they are still learning our language.
