IMPORTANT OFFICE UPDATE – March 31, 2020
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Hours & Scheduling:
Moving forward at JCA we will continue to maintain hours from 9am – 11am. I will continue to be the only present staff member at the office. As of the first of April 2020, I will be allowing only one patient at a time, by special appointment, into the office for their care. We ask that you kindly wait in your car until waved in by me. I will be welcoming you through the front door based on your scheduled appointment order, not in the order that you arrived in the parking lot.

Children:
If you are bringing your child with you, do not leave them in the car if they are too young to stay there. Bring them in, they can wait for you in a chair. The “Kids room” is closed for the time being, but your children are welcome. If you arrive and see children leaving the office, expect a couple extra minute delay so that I can clean after the children.

Precautions:
You are asked to wear a mask if you have one, to disinfect your hands and above the wrist prior to entering if you have sanitizer available. If you have no sanitizer, you will be asked to wash your hands after entry. Your temperature will also be read upon entry. If you or anyone you know have had a fever, shown signs of illness or have been diagnosed with the Corona Virus, DO NOT ENTER THE OFFICE. Please, for the sake of others, leave us a message on our answering machine (207) SPINAL 1 explaining your situation and we will do what we can to help you remotely or in-person after 2 weeks of self-quarantine.

We are actively exceeding CDC recommendations with our protocols and procedures in an effort to keep you and your loved ones safe. We have bleach and necessary cleaning agents. I will need time between patients to thoroughly wash my hands and disinfect all treatment and touchable surfaces. There will be no waiting inside, when you are ushered in, you will go directly to one of our many tables, receive your care, and leave without touching anything, unless you need to use the restroom. Every surface that needs cleaning, including the bathroom, will be cleaned before and after every patient. This will take time, but you can rest assured that we are doing all we can to make your visit safe.

Age 65+
All patients over the age of 65 are asked to stay home for their safety. We will resume your care when the pandemic is over. If you have a serious problem you think I may be able to help you with, patients over the age of 65 will be seen by special appointment only at times deemed safer than during the 9 to11am shift. Please call to speak with me about your urgent, but non-emergency issue.

Moving Forward:
While these measures may seem extreme, I am not willing to compromise anyone’s health in our office. While inconvenient, these measures are for the greater good, and allow us to stay open for those of you who need us.

Finally, I feel that it is critically important to keep you up and running during this challenging time. Your family, pets and employer/employees need you. The last place you need in April 2020 to be for non-emergency health issues is the hospital, ER, or urgent care. If we can help you avoid these places within the realm of our legal scope of practice, we will be fulfilling our duty to you and our community.

**Our office is not one for medical emergencies. While we strive to keep you out of emergency situations, should you find yourself in one, call 911.

With love & gratitude,
Dr. Lou
