The drugs Enbrel, Remicade, Humira and Cimzia are getting a new warning.  These drugs may put patients at risk of fatal fungal infections.  The symptoms mimic the flu.  Patients will be alerted to call their doctors if they develop persistent fever, cough, shortness of breath or fatigue, which can be signs of the fungal infection.

If you know someone who is taking any of these drugs for rheumatoid arthritis or any other conditions, have them express their concern to their prescribing physician.  Changing their meds could save their life.  FYI Enbrel is also commonly used to treat eczema and psoriasis.
