Turns out the FDA is saying that the chemicals in Nalgene bottles (BPA) is safe.  CNN reports that “The Food and Drug Administration scientists said the trace amounts of bisphenol A that leach out of food containers are not a threat to infants or adults”

The FDA is the same organization that approved VIOXX that killed over 30,000 people.  Canada intends to ban the substance, California too.  The studies that the FDA cites are apparently “industry funded studies”.  In other words, they are kind of like having Phillip Morris do research on the dangers of cigarettes.

My question is….Who do we believe? ..And when?
What percentage of the time is safe to trust agencies who are supposed to keep us safe?  When are they being corrupted? Are they being corrupted?

My thoughts are ultimately consistent, though not be entirely scientific.  “If it seems like a bad idea, it probably is”.  Drinking out of plastic just doesn’t seem as safe as glass, wood or steel.
Driving without a seat belt, just not smart.  Drinking gasoline…. bad idea.

Why is America so sick?  Think about the small stuff and sweat it.  Little things like toxins leaching out of plastic into your water may be 1% of the 100% of bad stuff that leads to you or someone you love getting sick.  Is it worth the risk?

I welcome your thoughts!
