Forget the fluff, does your chiropractor give a good adjustment?

What I’m about to do is the equivalent of a magician teaching you the secret to a well known magic trick. This is an insider’s whistleblowing that is intended to help you find the doctor for you. We want you to find a chiropractor who will give you the best adjustment.

Chiropractors are like dentists, they are highly specialized and are also limited in their scope of practice. Chiropractors are trained in the identification and correction of vertebral subluxation complex (VSC). VSC, in simple terms, is a state of misalignment of the spine that puts pressure on nerves leading to dysfunction in neurological communication to and from the body and the brain. This communication breakdown can lead to big problems like poor healing, poor regulation and poor control of the body. While not always painful, sometimes it is. VSC is corrected by chiropractors with a chiropractic adjustment, often just called an adjustment. The adjustment is the spinal manipulation.

As chiropractors, we’re also trained in physiotherapy (physical therapy) modalities and a number of ancillary therapies that are NOT chiropractic, but more like PT.

The only thing that chiropractors do that is uniquely “chiropractic” is identify subluxation and correct it with an adjustment(s). This is what they are licensed by law to do as a chiropractor. Their license includes doing the other stuff as well, but again, it’s not chiropractic.

If you are searching for a chiropractor, go to one who isn’t distracted with physical therapy and other specialties that the other specialist does better. Find a chiropractor who will give you the best adjustment. The best adjustment is everything.

Great chiropractic care comes from a loving staff and doctor, tools and skills to detect subluxation and great adjusting skills. A chiropractor’s ability to adjust is the most important skill. Everything else can be done better by anyone specialized in the other modality, medicine or technique. Chiropractors can identify all types of problems and have studied pathology and diagnostics extensively. At the end of the day, though, you’ll likely get a second opinion for any medical diagnosis by a chiropractor, excluding of course, subluxation. Vertebral Subluxation Complex is only diagnosed by a chiropractor.

Go to the specialist, like a chiropractor, for their specialty. If you are diagnosed with brain cancer, toenail fungus, an enlarged spleen, diabetes or whiplash, the chiropractor is only going to adjust you while they are utilizing chiropractic. Nutrition, PT, massage, etc, are not chiropractic, they are what they are, they are great, but chiropractors adjust the spine to correct vertebral subluxation. If they do anything else, you may just want to go to the specialist who has more training in that area of expertise.
