Perinatal or Prenatal Yoga In Portland, Maine
Perinatal yoga encompasses yoga before during and after pregnancy. Sometimes people call this prenatal yoga. The majority of the common factors involved in a difficult pregnancy, labor and delivery are structural. Nerves, muscles, bones and joints, under the stress of physical, emotional and chemical change, start to get uncomfortable. Additionally, the dysfunction that leads to pain also, and sometimes painlessly, leads to difficult labor and delivery. Perinatal yoga at Perinatal & Pediatric Chiropractic of Maine can help.
Prenatal yoga instructor Chantal Joubi works closely with Dr. Lou Jacobs (pregnancy chiropractic specialist) to provide you with the most help yoga practice based on the phase of your pregnancy. Prenatal yoga at PPCM is trimester based. You will receive specialized, small group instruction based on which trimester you are in. You will also be able to transition smoothly from class to class as your trimesters change.
Each mom will also be given, as part of their class fee, the opportunity to receive a full perinatal chiropractic exam at no additional charge. If the mom is already a patient, she can transfer the exam to a friend or family member.
Classes with Chantal at PPCM are a unique opportunity to receive prenatal yoga instruction in a clinical setting under the optional supervision of a perinatal and pediatric chiropractic specialist. There is no other location in Maine with this offering.
