A “Small Chiropractic Office”. Is it for you?
Why a small chiropractic office may be best for you. If you have had experiences in medical facilities that made you feel like a “rushed number”, you may want to find yourself a small chiropractic office. Small offices often provide you with a level of care that feels different than a large multi doctor business. A small chiropractic office offers a lot of one on one time, if that’s what you want. So often, patients in larger “factory like” offices feel as though they are not given enough time with the provider. The attitude of small offices is different, it’s not as stressed, it’s dedicated to you and your time to be heard. A small office also emphasize much of what other types of offices lack, listening and concern for the individual. Because they aren’t focused on fulfilling quotas or paying for expensive overhead, they have less to worry about so they can worry about you. Small offices often have consistent staff, less turnover, and that means more consistency for you. It’s nice to know that when you walk into your providers office, you’ll see a familiar face who knows you and some of your story. Just because it’s...

What Lies Beneath….The Snow. Don’t be fooled! Just because the snow looks soft and fluffy from today’s storm, doesn’t mean there aren’t hazards beneath the surface! Slip and fall accidents leave people injured, missing work, missing family time and falling short in all activities of daily living if the fall is a bad one. Beneath the snow lurk hazards that will ruin your day, week or year if you aren’t careful. Below are a four of the main culprits that are awaiting your arrival! Hazard 1: ICE Ice beneath the snow is easy to slip on. One false move and you’ll be in a world of hurt, may miss work, may not be able to pick up your kids or sit down on your butt. A broken tailbone is the last thing you need. Hazard 2: POTHOLES Twist your ankle, fall on your hip, say hello to urgent care or the ER. Not a fun way to spend a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. Hazard 3: LEGOS Legos are always a stepping hazard. Hazard 4: CAR TRACKS Believe it or not, packed snow under a car tire can be nearly as slippery as ice. Just pay attention. Hazard 5: CRACKS...

You may be surprised by the research on whiplash injuries. Unfortunately, whiplash injuries are common in winter months because of rear end collisions. There are several misconceptions that have been dispelled by research. What you don’t know may lead to greater harm to you if you are rear ended by another vehicle. Research shows that low impact collisions are more dangerous to passengers as most people think. At 8 mph the head and neck are exposed to forces 2.5 times those of the vehicle itself. In a 1992 research by Macnab in The Spine, states that “in a 15 mph collision the head would accelerate with a force of 10 G’s in less than 1/2 second.” To put this in perspective, a fighter pilot begins to “gray out” at 6G and one cannot raise their body against 8G. At 5G there is a 50/50 chance of sustaining a concussion. TAKEAWAY: Low speed accidents can create real bodily harm that left uncorrected may lead to big problems in the future. Research also shows that damage to your car is often much less severe than the damage to your body. TAKEAWAY: Just because your car is ok, doesn’t mean you are. Being...

The Dirty Dozen is a list of fruits and vegetables that you MUST buy organic. Most non-organic vegetables are saturated in pesticides. Dr. Lou’s Weight Loss Challenge Has Died From Complications Of Obesity. A personal message from Dr. Lou. That’s Right, but there’s great news. The three month challenge that has led to hundreds of people losing thousands of pounds is taking a break this year. Over the years we’ve given away thousands of dollars and helped dozens of people take off tremendous weight and keep it off. As otherwise motivated participants became less engaged in the process (Free Classes, Workshops, etc) and subsequently were less successful in the program, I started strategizing better, more effective ways of helping people get in shape. I wanted to continue to use the valuable information and tools we’ve used in the challenge. This has led me back to the most successful plan of action I know. For over 15 years I have been privately coaching people to better fitness and weight loss. One on One attention appears to be what works best for my clients and it allows them to comfortably work through weight loss without the involvement of distracting group meetings and generalized plans. Our program was overweight with options and I’ve decided to slim things down. I will be reinvesting my time...
